General#
What is Detion?#
A terminal for on-chain options and perpetuals. It shows live markets, models the risk of a trade as you size it and opens the trading app so you can place the order with your own wallet.
Is Detion free?#
Yes. Detion has no fee of its own. Trades carry the fees set by the underlying protocol. See Fees and margin.
Do I need an account?#
No. You can browse all markets without an account or a wallet. An account is only needed to see your own balances and positions.
Trading#
Can I place orders on Detion?#
No. Detion shows the market and the math, then opens the market in the trading app. You choose the contract there, and you place and sign the order with your own wallet.
Why does the trading app not show my contract, size and price?#
The ticket opens the trading app on the same market, for example ETH options. It does not pass the strike, expiry, size or price across, so set them again there.
Are the fee and margin numbers exact?#
No. They are estimates built from the markets' published settings so you can compare trades quickly. The protocol sets the final fees and margin when an order is placed. See Order ticket.
Why is max loss "Unlimited"?#
Short calls have no upper limit on loss because the underlying price can rise without bound. See Reading risk.
Wallet and account#
Does Detion hold my funds or keys?#
No. Detion is non-custodial. It reads public market data and, if you link an account, reads that account. It never asks for a transaction. See Security and custody.
Which wallets work?#
Browser wallets that follow the standard Ethereum wallet interface, such as MetaMask and Rabby. If you have several installed, Detion lets you pick.
What does linking my account actually do?#
It opens a read-only data session after you sign a timestamp. It lets the terminal show your balances, positions, orders and history. It cannot place orders or move funds. See Link your trading account.
Where do I find my trading account address?#
In the trading app, under Account. It is your account's smart-contract wallet, which is different from the address of your browser wallet.
Data#
Where does the data come from?#
From a live public market data feed, streamed over a WebSocket: instruments, tickers, order books, trades and index candles. See Market data.
Why do some numbers show a dash?#
A dash means the value is not available yet or does not apply, for example an implied volatility that has not been quoted, or a funding rate for an underlying with no perp. Wait a moment for data to arrive, or see Troubleshooting.
Are prices delayed?#
They stream live, but the internet adds latency. The status bar shows the round-trip time.
Privacy#
Does Detion store my information?#
Detion has no accounts or database. A few preferences live in your browser's local storage on your own device. See Security and custody.
