Options chain
Every expiry and strike for an underlying, with bid, ask, mark, implied volatility and delta updating live.
The options chain is the main screen of the terminal. Calls sit on the left, puts on the right and strikes run down the middle. Prices update as the order books move.
Layout#
- Underlying. The menu at the top left switches between options underlyings.
- Expiry tabs. One tab per expiry date, labelled like Oct 16. Expiries are in UTC. The terminal opens on the first expiry that is more than 36 hours away, so you do not land on a contract about to settle.
- Chain table. A Calls group, a Strike column and a Puts group. A marker row shows where the current index price sits between strikes.
- Side panels. The order ticket and the Analysis panel (payoff and Greeks) sit to the right, or in a bottom sheet on smaller screens.
Columns#
The same set of columns repeats for calls and puts.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Bid Size / Ask Size | How much is available at the best bid and best ask. |
| Bid IV / Ask IV | The implied volatility implied by the best bid and ask. |
| Bid Price / Ask Price | The best price to sell into or buy from right now. Click one to select the contract. |
| Mark | The fair-value reference price for the contract. |
| Mark IV | The implied volatility implied by the mark price. |
| Delta | Roughly how much the option price moves for a $1 move in the underlying. |
| Position | Your size in the contract. Only available once a trading account is linked, and hidden by default. |
| Volume | Contracts traded over the last 24 hours. |
| OI | Open interest: contracts currently outstanding. |
Behind each bid and ask price, a tint deepens with the size available, so thick liquidity stands out. Prices briefly flash green or red when they change. You can turn that off in Display settings.
Select a contract#
- Click an ask price to start a buy. Click a bid price to start a sell. The ticket fills in with the contract and a limit price at that quote.
- Click anywhere else on a cell to select the contract without changing the side.
- Click a row in the Book tab of the Analysis panel to pick a limit price from the order book.
- With the chain focused, press ↑ and ↓ to step through strikes for the selected contract type.
Tools#
- Center on spot scrolls the chain to the strike nearest the index price.
- Choose columns lets you show or hide columns. Your choice is remembered.
On smaller screens#
At 1100 pixels wide and below, a Chain / Analysis / Account switch replaces the side-by-side layout, and the ticket moves into a bottom sheet. A Trade bar stays above the status bar and shows the selected contract and its quote. Tap it to open the sheet, and swipe down or tap outside to close it. At 700 pixels and below, the chain narrows to bid, mark and ask.
