Detion Docs

How Detion works

Where the data comes from, what runs in your browser and where orders are actually placed.

On this page

Detion is a static web app. There is no Detion server between you and the market, no Detion account and no Detion database. Everything you see is either streamed from public market data or calculated in your own browser.

Market data order books, tickers, trades Detion terminal runs in your browser payoff, Greeks, estimates Your wallet address, signatures Trading app orders signed and settled live stream address opens market you sign here
Data flows into the terminal. Orders flow out through your wallet, not through Detion.

The market data feed#

When the terminal loads, your browser opens a live connection to the public market data feed and subscribes to what the current screen needs: instruments, tickers, order books, recent trades and index candles. If the connection drops, Detion reconnects and restores its subscriptions. The status bar at the bottom of the terminal shows the connection state and round-trip latency. See Market data for details.

What runs in your browser#

Everything analytical happens locally:

  • Payoff at expiry, break-even and max loss for the size you type.
  • The "today" payoff curve, using the Black–Scholes model with the contract's mark implied volatility.
  • Margin, buying power and fee estimates for the ticket.
  • Scaling the contract Greeks to your position size.

Nothing about your draft order leaves your browser.

Your wallet#

Connecting a wallet only reveals your public address to the terminal. If you link a trading account, your wallet signs a timestamp once, which opens a read-only data session. Detion never asks your wallet to send a transaction. Read Connect a wallet and Link your trading account.

Where orders are placed#

Detion does not place orders. When you are ready, the ticket opens the trading app on the same market. You choose the exact contract, sign with your own wallet and the order settles on-chain.

What is stored on your device#

Detion keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage: display settings, chain columns, whether the sidebar is collapsed, whether you dismissed the notice, which wallet you last connected and the trading account address you last linked. Clearing site data removes all of it.
