Order ticket
Build a limit or market order and see margin, buying power, fees and cost before you open the trading app.

The ticket is where you describe a trade. Detion uses it to work out margin, fees, cost and the payoff for the Analysis panel. It does not send the order anywhere. When the details look right, the ticket hands you off to the trading app.
Fields#
| Field | What it does |

| Routing | Auto Route is selected by default. Book restricts the order to a limit order against the book. RFQ is shown as coming soon and is disabled. |
| Side | Buy to Open or Sell to Open. Choosing a side resets the price to the best quote on that side. |
| Order Type | Limit or Market. Market is unavailable when routing is set to Book. |
| Limit Price / Est. Price | For a limit order, the price you enter. For a market order, an estimate taken from the best quote. A button beside the label shows the best ask for a buy or the best bid for a sell, and fills the price when you click it. |
| Amount | The size. For options this is in the underlying, such as ETH. For perps you can switch the unit between the coin and USD. |
| Post | Marks the order post-only, so it is treated as adding liquidity. Turning it on switches the order to Limit and GTC. |
| Time in force | GTC, IOC or FOK. Choosing IOC or FOK turns Post off. |
| Order expiry | 1H, 24H, 7D or 30D. |
Summary#
The summary under the button depends on the market.
Options
- Margin Required. For a buy, the full cost of the premium. Shown as a dash for a sell.
- Buying Power. Your account value minus initial margin. Needs a linked account.
- Estimated Fee. See Fees and margin.
- Max Cost for a buy, or Credit for a sell, including the fee estimate.
Perps
- Buying Power and Leverage. Leverage is the order's notional divided by your account value. Both need a linked account.
- Estimated Fee.
- Margin Required. The initial margin rate from the market's settings multiplied by the order's notional.
The main button#
The button changes with the state of your order:

| Connect a wallet | No wallet is connected. Click it to open the wallet dialog. |
| A short message | The order is not valid yet, for example Enter an amount, Enter a limit price or a note about the market's minimum size. |
| Open trading app | The order is valid and a wallet is connected. |
Open trading app opens the trading app in a new tab on the same market. It does not carry over the contract, size or price, so choose them again there. You sign with your own wallet. See How Detion works.
Tips#
- When you leave the price or amount field, Detion rounds it to the market's tick size or amount step.
- Click a price in the order book or an ask or bid in the chain and the ticket fills the side and price for you.
- The Analysis panel redraws as you type, so you can try different sizes and prices and watch max loss and break-even move.
- On screens 1100 pixels wide and below, the ticket lives in a bottom sheet that you open from the Trade bar.
