Link your trading account
Open a read-only session to see your balances, positions, open orders and trade history inside the terminal.
Linking connects the terminal to your existing trading account so you can see it next to the markets. It is read-only. Nothing you do in Detion can place an order or move funds.
What you need#
- A connected browser wallet. See Connect a wallet.
- The address of your trading account wallet. This is the account's smart-contract wallet, which is different from the address of the browser wallet you connected. You can find it in the trading app under Account.
Link in four steps#
- Open the wallet menu and choose Link trading account. You will also see this prompt in the account panels in the terminal.
- Paste the trading account address. It must be a 42-character address starting with
0x. - Choose Sign & link.
- Approve the signature request in your wallet.
When it works, a toast confirms that the account is linked, the wallet menu shows Account linked with the address, and your account panels fill in.
What you are signing#
Your wallet is asked to sign a short text message containing only the current timestamp. The signature proves that you control the account and opens a data session that can read your account. It is not a transaction, it costs no gas and it cannot approve spending or move funds.
While linked#
- The terminal refreshes your account about every seven seconds.
- Balances, positions, orders and the account summary appear in the Account panels. See Portfolio and history.
- The ticket uses your account value and margin to show Buying Power and Leverage.
- The chain can show a Position column.
If the session ends, for example after a network problem, the panel says so and asks you to sign again.
Unlink#
Choose Unlink trading account in the wallet menu. The terminal stops reading your account. Detion keeps the address you used so the dialog can pre-fill it next time, but it does not sign you back in on its own. Disconnecting your wallet also ends the session.
Common problems#
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Enter a valid wallet address (0x…) | Check that you pasted all 42 characters and that it starts with 0x. |
| Signature request was cancelled | You declined the request in your wallet. Try again and approve it. |
| Session ended. Sign again to reconnect. | The read-only session timed out or lost connection. Open the link dialog and sign again. |
| The account looks empty | Make sure you used your trading account address, not your browser wallet address. |
